Brother from another mother

You may or may not know that my sister and I each had a baby boy on the same day. When Kari first got married, she told me that she wanted us to be pregnant at the same time. I thought I had 2 perfect children and didn't think there would be more. But luckily I was wrong. I found out I was pregnant in December but didn't tell Kari until the told me that she found out she was pregnant. I had an early ultrasound and it showed 2 babies or not really 2 babies but "maybe" there were 2. They scheduled another ultrasound to be sure. By that time though there was only one healthy growing baby. My girls decided that Heavenly Father decided Kari needed a baby and took the other baby from me and gave it to Kari. So was always felt there was a special bond between these two boys. I was due July 24th and Kari wasn't due until August. Miracle of miracles, these 2 boys came on July 17th. Kari had toxemia and had to be induced and I went into labor on the 16th and after 40 hours or labor had to have a c-section. Andres was born not even 2 hours after Donovan. They hated to be seperated. And now, Kari, Dorian and Andres have moved to Grandma's house too. The boys are finally reunited!
Welcome Andres!!

"Faux Hawk"

This is a tribute to my dad. I don't know where I first heard this phrase used, I think on American Idol. But the first time my dad heard it was when David Archuleta was on iCarly (err, um I think I heard the girls mention this or something...) and had this hair style and dad DID NOT like it. So of course being the loving and respectable daughter that I am, I take every opportunity to show my dad how cool I think this hair style really it! So here we are getting ready to go swimming and I lather my son's head and what happens to his hair, a faux hawk appears! I think he is adorable. So I had to photograph dad with Donovan sporting his least favorite hair style!

I think dad should try this hair style out next, what do you think?

Face painting for hire

The girls and their friends decided to have a face painting booth at the end of the street. They charged 25 cents and then they painted your face. I had picked Sean up from work and they still had their booth going. So I asked him so innocently to walk the girls home as I shoved 25 cents into his hand and drove off. This is how he came home looking. I think the girls have a real talent for face painting. What do you think?

Morning Dew

Each morning I stand in the front yard and watch Morgan walk down the street to meet the bus. These are the flowers that are just outside the front door. I love the colors and also the dew on the morning flowers.

Donovan loves the dirt

Sean took Donovan outside to play in the garden. Donovan loves to play in the dirt. Most of the time he doesn't eat any of it (I said MOST of the time) and so her gets to play in the dirt a lot. Sean took the last 5 pictures or so to show me how Donovan taught himself to crawl off the stones. Such a smart little boy. (Donovan not Sean. But thank you Sean for taking these pictures for us all to enjoy!)Donovan sitting among the tomato plants.

I love this picture of Donovan's dirty hand. It looks like a picture I would have taken! Great photographic work, Sean!

These next few are of Donovan climbing down step by step!

First teeth and watching laundry

Have I mentioned now much I love this little guy! He is so much fun and so sweet and loves to laugh. And he loves to watch the laundry in the washing machine.

Here is photographic evidence of Donovan's new teeth!

I know this blog seems like a tribute to my youngest child. I love all my kids equally. It is just so much easier to encourage a nursing baby to spend time near his mom then it is to keep 2 very fun and active girls in front of a camera for long.
